Castroville's trusted early learning center
For over a decade, Castroville Early Childhood Learning Center has provided developmentally grounded childcare and preschool in a setting where curiosity is treated as the curriculum.
About Us
Castroville Early Childhood Learning Center was founded on a straightforward conviction: the earliest years are not a waiting period — they are the foundation. Our center sits along US Highway 90 W in the heart of Castroville, serving families who want more than custodial care for their children.
Our team of trained educators designs every day around developmental milestones, sensory exploration, and the kind of unstructured play that builds genuine problem-solving ability. We don't rush children into academics they aren't ready for. Instead, we build the cognitive and emotional infrastructure that makes learning stick.
Programs
Each program is structured to meet children where they are — not where we think they should be. Age-appropriate groupings, intentional environments, and educators who understand developmental pacing.
A gentle, responsive environment for our youngest learners. Focus on sensory stimulation, secure attachment, and the routines that help babies feel safe and engaged throughout the day.
Toddlers are explorers by nature. Our program channels that energy into purposeful activities — language-rich interactions, fine motor development, and the social skills that emerge through guided peer play.
A structured yet playful introduction to group learning. Children develop foundational literacy and numeracy awareness through hands-on exploration, guided discovery, and creative expression.
Preparation for kindergarten that doesn't look like kindergarten. We focus on executive function, independent thinking, and the social confidence children need to thrive when they enter the classroom.
Our Approach
Our curriculum is rooted in early childhood development research and adapted to the individual pace of every child in our care. We believe that play is the work of childhood — and that the skills children build through intentional play are the same skills that predict long-term academic and social success.
Educators document what each child gravitates toward, then design experiences that deepen that interest.
Every corner of our classrooms is arranged to invite exploration, independence, and purposeful choice.
Regular communication, open doors, and shared goals — we treat parents as the primary partners in their child's development.
Our Community
We are a neighborhood institution. Our families are local — many of them multi-generational Castroville residents who chose us for the same reason they choose everything else here: trust, consistency, and genuine care.
Castroville may be small on the map, but the families here demand excellence — and we deliver it every single day.
We understand the anxiety that comes with choosing childcare. That's why we make the transition as smooth and transparent as possible.
Our outdoor spaces are designed for real exploration — mud, water, climbing, and the kind of unstructured time that builds resilience.
